Wind Surf is getting a makeover.

The 310-guest Windstar Cruises ship will head to Cadiz, Spain, next month for the first phase of extensive renovations. Sporting a new look, the five-masted sailing yacht will return to the water for a “Classic Caribbean” holiday cruise on December 21. From there, the ship will offer a “Beach Fun & Sun” cruise, followed by a 55-day “Grand Caribbean Adventure” itinerary.

“Wind Surf has become a beloved choice among our longtime Windstar guests,” says Stijn Creupelandt, chief operating officer for Windstar Cruises. “Many of our guests return each year to sail on this yacht, and we’re thrilled to offer a refreshed atmosphere and updated technology on board to enhance their comfort. I can’t wait to personally welcome our guests during the holiday sailing and celebrate this exciting transformation in a festive setting.”

During the first phase of Wind Surf’s multi-million dollar renovation, many of the ship’s public spaces will get a refresh—including new layouts, furniture, wall and floor coverings, lighting and custom art.

The vessel’s staterooms and suites will also undergo refurbishments, with new technology—including interactive TVs—installed throughout the ship. The Owner’s Suite will be getting a glow-up, and crews will add Broadmoor and Sea Island suites inspired by the cruise line’s sister resorts in Colorado and Georgia. (Several other Windstar ships already have the Broadmoor and Sea Island suites.)

During the second phase of the project, the staterooms will get new furniture, soft goods and décor. Crews will also refresh additional public spaces, including Stella Bistro, Veranda and the fitness studio. The entire project is scheduled to be finished by December 2026.

Windstar is in the process of updating all three of its Wind Class ships: Wind Surf, Wind Star, and Wind Spirit. The line’s motor yachts—Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride—are fresh off a $250 million makeover. Windstar is also building two new ships, Star Seeker and Star Explorer.
