Premium
carrier BermudAir will launch thrice-weekly roundtrip flights between Baltimore/Washington
International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International
Airport beginning March 18.
BWI Thurgood
Marshall Airport will become BermudAir’s fifth U.S. gateway, which began
service in September 2023 as Bermuda’s flagship airline, offering flights aboard
Embraer E175 aircraft.
BermudAir
also flies from Boston Logan International Airport, Florida’s Fort
Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Orlando International Airport, and
New York’s Westchester County Airport.
The carrier’s
aircraft are equipped with 30 seats, with two spacious seats per row separated
by a center aisle. Under-seat stowage eliminates overhead bins, enhancing the plane’s
roomy atmosphere.
All flights
feature premium food and beverage service including a full bar, while aircraft
seats include power outlets plus free Wi-Fi-powered entertainment and messaging
services.
“This new
connection will unlock new cultural and economic opportunities for Bermudians
and Marylanders alike,” said Paul J. Wiedefeld, Maryland’s transportation
secretary.
“BWI
Marshall and our partners are looking forward to offering increased access to
tropical vacations directly from the Baltimore region,” he said.
“BermudAir
is growing quickly and creating new opportunities for tourism and economic
development,” said Ricky Smith, executive director/CEO of BWI Marshall Airport.
“Our
customers will appreciate the airline’s quick and easy access to Bermuda’s
natural beauty, culture, and history,” Smith said.
“This
expansion demonstrates our dedication to meeting our passengers’ needs,” said Adam
Scott, BermudAir’s CEO, “and strategically enhancing our service offerings,
based on continual market feedback and evaluation.”
