Atlanta's tourism continues to grow, and one particular area is standing high above the rest.
The Centennial Park District has had quite the transformation over the last several years. Thanks to the newly designed Mercedes-Benz Stadium, visitors will be flocking in from far and wide.
However, it's not the only reason to venture inside the area.
If you live anywhere in the south or are planning to visit Atlanta for a convention or sports outing, do yourself a favor and spend a day in the Centennial Park District.
Bring the whole family or just make it a date night (or day) outing with a loved one. There's so much to do, plenty of safe places to park and everything is well within easy walking distance. Travelers can also use MARTA to get around the area with ease.

For starters, if you're from out of town, consider staying at the popular Omni Atlanta Hotel, Embassy Suites, the Hilton Garden Inn or the Glenn Hotel, which has a stunning rooftop sky lounge.
If food is your forte, you're in luck because the CPD is loaded with great eateries. STATS sports bar, Twin Smokers BBQ, Max's Coal Oven Pizzeria and Der Biergarten are just a few of the many worth exploring, especially if you love beer too.
As mentioned before, the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium is well worth your time. It's home for Atlanta Falcons football games, Atlanta United soccer matches as well as concerts and events.
There's also the Philips Arena, which is home to Atlanta Hawks basketball games and tons of concerts and events every year. It will soon be undergoing some internal renovations to further enhance an already stellar fan experience.

Another great sports-related activity fans must check out in the district is the College Football Hall of Fame. The interactive features throughout the building make it great for the whole family.
And speaking of family attractions in the CPD, the Children's Museum of Atlanta and the Georgia Aquarium are real crowd pleasers. Kids will be entertained and learn new things all at the same time. How great is that?
Additionally, the World of Coca-Cola is fun for all ages and, if you can take heights, the SkyView Atlanta Ferris Wheel offers up some truly breathtaking views.
If music is your thing, the district has you covered with big stars performing at the sports venues as well as at the mid-size concert hall, The Tabernacle. Some upcoming shows this fall and winter at The Tabernacle include rapper 2 Chainz, singer Niall Horan and the band Seether.
Garth Brooks will be the first concert at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium while the Eagles, Imagine Dragons, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry will all perform at Philips Arena this fall.

And if you get tired from walking, Centennial Olympic Park is one of the best places to sit down and relax. You can hear the hustle and bustle of a big city but be at ease in such a beautiful green space. The fountain of Olympic rings is another great spot for all ages, and the way it lights up at night is mesmerizing.
There's something for everyone in the Centennial Park District, aka the true heart of Atlanta, Georgia.
