We Say:
There is a downside to San Diego; we just know it. Sure, modern scavengers, elated tourists and weekend adventurers haven't found it yet, but it's there. It just has to be.
The rest of us who can only vacation within its confines have to be a tad jealous at all the bountiful treasures of this remarkable city. The weather is forever in that Goldilocks realm of just right. The beaches are essentially a naturally occurring wonder drug that washes away everyday stress and the entertainment options are seemingly infinite.
It really is that rare city that accommodates all types of travelers: from the couple who just wants a romantic getaway to the family that is looking for some quality leisure time.
There may be a heaven, and we are sure it's great. For the moment, we have San Diego, and that will be enough for now.
They Say:
California's history began in San Diego, when European explorers first set foot on the state in 1542. Over the centuries, this port city has been a hub for commercial fishing and the U.S. Navy, and oceanographic research. Today, San Diego is California's 2nd largest city and the 8th largest city in the country. San Diego has all the best of what a big city has to offer, with incredible arts and culture, dining and nightlife, but with a laid-back, beachy vibe that makes any visit relaxing and rejuvenating. From perfect beaches, to world-class family attractions, 100 craft breweries and countless ways to spend time in the great outdoors, there's something for just about every kind of visitor in San Diego. - San Diego Tourism Authority

Foods to seek out:
Fish Tacos: While the Mexican fare in this city is top shelf, you simply have to dive into a local treasure in the form of the fish taco. Now watch your waistline, because there are tons of choices. Thrillist and Locale Magazine have wonderful lists. You can't go wrong with Oscar's though.
California Burrito: As with tacos, burritos are ubiquitous. Try the delicious California burrito at Lucha Libre and enjoy the awesomeness that is French fries fraternizing with shrimp and carne asada.
