Flight and hotel bookings from outbound U.S. travelers to the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe are surging this summer, according to new data from Trip.com.The leading travel service provider reports a year-over-year increase of 145 percent in flight bookings from the U.S. to the U.K. in the first half of this year.Meanwhile, Trip.com hotel bookings for the U.K. reveal that London, Edinburgh and Manchester are the top three most popular destinations for U.S. travelers this year.It's not just the U.K. that Americans are interested in, with flight bookings from the U.S. to Europe growing 101 percent over the same period. Hotel bookings from the U.S. to Europe have jumped 60 percent over the same period.In addition to London, Barcelona, Paris, Rome, Milan, Athens, Lisbon, Amsterdam and Dublin are the most popular flight arrival cities for U.S. travelers to Europe, Trip.com found."We are thrilled to witness a 101 percent growth in flight and 60 percent in hotel bookings for Europe, indicating a solid rebound in transatlantic travel," Andy Washington, General Manager EMEA at Trip.com Group, said in a statement."At Trip.com Group, we remain committed to offering exceptional service and customized travel solutions via our mobile-first strategy, ensuring our customers, comfort and convenience."
