Visitor numbers to Los Cabos, Mexico, continue to soar, with the destination welcoming 3.8 million visitors in 2025, a 130% increase over the past 10 years.

Last year, the destination’s average daily hotel rate reached $440, up from $286 in 2017, with hotel inventory rising to 22,000 rooms compared to 15,000 in 2016, and air connectivity increasing by 46% increase since 2016.

The destination’s 2025 average daily hotel rate of $440 is purported to be the highest in Mexico, with 80% of inventory in the luxury category.

In more good news, revenue per available room increased from $203 to $306, with an average annual occupancy rate of 70%.

“This growth did not happen by accident,” said Rodrigo Esponda, managing director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. “For more than a decade, Los Cabos has focused on attracting high-value travelers, strengthening air connectivity, diversifying our markets and investing in premium infrastructure that supports long-term economic resilience,” he added.

On the air connectivity front, Los Cabos is now connected to 42 international airports, including 32 in the United States, up from 38 international connections in 2019.

“New U.S. routes from markets, such as Nashville, Kansas City, Ontario and Orange County, complement established gateways, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix, New York, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta and more. Direct service from Frankfurt, Germany and Panama City, Panama further diversifies the destination’s international base,” the tourism board said.

All told, the destination’s stellar tourism numbers have contributed approximately $7.7 billion to the regional economy.

“Tourism supports approximately two out of three jobs in Los Cabos when accounting for both direct and indirect employment, with more than 44,000 positions directly tied to the industry,” the tourism board said.

In the end, part and parcel to Los Cabos’ ongoing success is a strategy to promote experiential travel through its wellness, sustainability, luxury, golf and culinary offerings.

“We remain laser-focused on our strategic approach. Growth in Los Cabos is intentional,” Esponda said. “We will continue strengthening our global positioning while ensuring tourism delivers measurable value to our community. "When our local community benefits, the entire destination thrives.”
