For wildlife lovers, few experiences are as rewarding as swimming alongside dolphins in their natural habitat.

Bahía de Banderas, located in the Mexican Pacific between the coasts of Nayarit and Jalisco, is an ideal destination to live this adventure. Hiring a tour operator like Wildlife Connection is very simple for those who want to enjoy this incredible experience, whether tourists in Puerto Vallarta or cruise ship passengers.

From the local marina, fast boats depart that, in minutes, reach the areas where the dolphins swim, allowing a magical encounter with these beautiful ocean creatures. Before setting sail, visitors participate in a short educational talk supported by specialized biologists, who, through a video, explain the characteristics of dolphins, their behavior, and their importance in the marine ecosystem.

Experts explain how to interact responsibly with them to avoid altering their natural habitat. In addition, biologists are highly trained to answer visitors' questions to ensure the experience is safe and enriching.

The speedboats cruise for a few minutes through the bay's waters until they locate groups of dolphins. Depending on the season, the lucky ones can observe mothers with young and playful dolphins following the ship's trail.

On board the boat, scientists specializing in these marine mammals share findings from their studies and explain responsible practices to avoid stressing the animals. These include the protocol that only two people are allowed in each dive in short, controlled shifts and cutting down on engine noise.

Adventures on Land

However, nature lovers visiting Puerto Vallarta also have dry-land options that can be combined with dolphin swimming.

In River Park, a protected area a few minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta, adventurers can take off-road vehicle tours to cross the longest suspension bridge in the world, spanning 1,540 feet in length and towering 492 feet in height. They can enjoy a spectacular view of the Sierra Madre Occidental from this bridge.

In addition, visitors can refresh themselves at the El Salto Waterfall and in a long river that goes down from the mountain to the park, where they have other recreational options such as horseback riding along the mountain, trekking, and, especially, a visit to a spectacular viewpoint with a transparent floor in which they can admire the majesty of the area. The bravest dare to experience the adrenaline on a swing overlooking the canyon.

Undoubtedly, one of the place's main attractions is the great zip line, on which adventurers enjoy an incredible view along a fast route. From the heights, they can admire the beauty of the environment with its river and waterfall, in addition to the rich flora and fauna of this charming protected park.

The park is managed by the communities that make up the area of El Jorullo, which is dedicated to promoting ecotourism.

River Park also has a typical food restaurant, an outdoor auditorium for cultural performances, a rodeo for equestrian shows, and even a hotel with all the services to receive individual guests and large groups. This space can also be reserved for corporate and social events like weddings and conventions.

Visitors can arrive at the park in private vehicles or with an exclusive shuttle service booked at the company's offices in various points of Puerto Vallarta.

Gastronomy Never Rests in Puerto Vallarta

In case it wasn't enough, foodies can also enjoy a wide culinary offer in Puerto Vallarta with restaurants specializing in international cuisine such as the emblematic La Capella, a historic enclosure in which, in addition to enjoying signature cuisine, the visitor enjoys one of the best views of the bay just behind the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe that, in its tower, looks with a spectacular crown.

Bistro is another iconic place in this Mexican Pacific resort. Located on the banks of the Cuale River, this romantic restaurant offers international cuisine accompanied by live jazz music amidst elegant classical architecture blended with contemporary touches.

Added to these places is the restaurant Icú, with a culinary offer based on the ancient tradition of Mexican cuisine, with à la carte and tasting menus. The dishes are created from traditional Mexican recipes with the particular creativity of the chef of the house.

Puerto Vallarta is a destination that is always reinvented while maintaining the highest quality of products and services. The visitor always finds something new that joins places of great tradition in an environment that is always friendly to the traveler.
