We can all agree that penguins rank right up there with koala bears regarding the cuteness factor. Now, you can add speed and thrills to the equation.
SeaWorld
Orlando is set to debut
a new roller coaster called the Penguin Trek.
The official opening is July 7. It will be located in the Antarctica portion of the park and is designed as a family ride, offering a unique blend of roller coaster thrills and wilderness adventure.
The snowmobile-style cards can reach speeds of up to 43 miles
per hour.
"Penguin
Trek offers a unique blend of thrills and education, allowing guests to immerse
themselves in the wonders of Antarctica while highlighting our dedication to
wildlife preservation and family-friendly fun. We're looking forward to
welcoming families and thrill seekers alike to experience the fun of this
incredible coaster," said Jon Peterson, President of SeaWorld Orlando.
One
of the cool aspects of the ride, literally, is that the wait in line is air-conditioned. That’s perfect for those scorching Florida summer days. Sort
of like Antarctica. Get
it?
It
also probably doesn’t hurt that the
park is bringing back its free beer promotion to celebrate its 60th
birthday. All guests get one free brew this summer.
