Attendees of this year's International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association Annual Global Convention can expect star treatment from the host city.
The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has partnered with the Getty Center to welcome delegates with a private gala reception on April 9 at the iconic museum complex, which perches in the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking the city.
"IGLTA delegates will have the very rare opportunity to attend an after-hours reception in their honor at the Getty Center, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier," says Michael McDowell, Vice President for Cultural Tourism at the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.
"During the event, delegates will have exclusive access to the West Pavilion, home to an astonishing collection of instantly recognizable Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces by Manet, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne, Gaugin, Toulouse-Lautrec - and, of course, Van Gogh's Irises, arguably one of the most famous paintings in the world."
From its hillside location, the Getty Center also offers breathtaking views of downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean - the perfect way to take in the convention host city. As the premier educational and networking event for the global LGBT tourism industry, IGLTA attracts delegates from more than 25 countries.
