Europe, which is home to 44 diverse countries, is a premier travel destination. From the Louvre in Paris to Tulip fields in Amsterdam, there is someplace for everyone to explore.
If you’re a little lost on where to start your travel journey, don’t worry. Travel Pulse is here to help with our pick for the best things to do in Europe. All of these travel destinations will capture your heart, body, and soul as they did ours.
Visit The Louvre In Paris, France
While Paris is known for the Eiffel Tower, croissants, and wine (all great things to enjoy on your trip), our favorite French tourist destination is The Louvre.
The Louvre is the most visited museum in the world and we understand why. With works by Leonardo Da Vinci, Caravaggio, Jacques-Louis David, and more., a trip through these hallowed halls will have you hook, line, and sinker in no time.
Insider tip: We recommend going to the Louvre in the afternoon or evening rather than in the morning. Many people try to beat the crowds by going early but that has resulted in the mornings being very busy!
Water Taxi In Venice, Italy
Venice, also known as the City of Canals or the Floating City, is famously flooded with water. Where most cities would have roads, Venice has picturesque canals and beautiful bridges.
While we’d recommend visiting the art museum and indulging in the food, the water taxi experience is a must. It’s super fun and the routes are beautiful. Plus, boating from one destination to another on a Venice canal instead of driving is a surreal experience.
Bath In Budapest, Hungary
After a long day of walking and exploring, take a trip to the thermal baths in Budapest. There are many local thermal baths, all with beautiful buildings that have hot springs, steam rooms, and other naturally occurring warm water pools.
For us, the experience was extremely rewarding. It was the perfect way to relax after a long day of traveling, and it brought to mind an old-world atmosphere you won’t be able to experience anywhere else.
The Acropolis In Athens, Greece
Greece is one of our must-see Europe tourist destinations. It’s the birthplace of democracy and many other modern schools of thought. It’s also got a ton of art and beautiful beaches.
But what we remember the most from our trip was visiting the Acropolis in Athens. Exploring ancient Greek architecture felt like taking a step into the past.
Visit Castles In Ireland
Ireland, or the Emerald Isle, is known for its lush greenery, moody skies, and thousands of pubs. But what drew our attention was the castles that dotted the landscape.
There are said to be over 30,000 castles and ruins in Ireland and after visiting, and we believe it.
Take a tour through the countryside and explore some of the most well-known castles like Kilkenny Castle and Carrickfergus Castle. Or head into the remote countryside for castle ruins that whisper with old Irish magic.
Sightsee Glaciers In Norway
Norway has many massive glaciers, including Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier in Europe. Local cruise ships and traveling expeditions offer tourists the chance to see some of these glaciers up close and personal.
Onboard tour guides add a startling narrative to the effect of climate change and the changes witnessed because of it. But it’s not all sad. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to see polar bears and walruses, which are a lot bigger than you would imagine!
Keukenhof In Amsterdam, Netherlands
If you’re in Amsterdam between March and May, then you have to visit Keukenhof. Keukenhof, also known as the Gardens of Europe, is a 32-hectare display of over 7 million flowers in full, bright bloom.
Get Ready To Explore Europe
The flowers, mostly tulips, created a vivid tapestry we will never be able to forget. The flowers are on show for eight weeks and draw in an estimated 26,000 visitors a day, so make sure you get in as soon as you can.
