On March 1, even as modern Scots contemplated independence from Great Britain, the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) opened the new Battle of Bannockburn experience. Bannockburn is the site of a 700-year-old battle that is synonymous with Scottish independence. The new visitor's center tells the story of Robert the Bruce, who led the Scots to victory over the English in 1314.
The center uses 3D technology to bring visitors face to face with medieval warriors and into the very center of the fray. "Combined with its central location and huge historic significance, the new Battle of Bannockburn experience is already proving to be a key attraction for group and FIT Scotland programs for 2014 and beyond," said Pietro Cecchini, head of travel trade at NTS.
NTS 2015 Group Rates and Discover Ticket prices are also now available with savings of more than 80 percent on standard admission prices and 25 percent agent commission on flexible Discover Tickets. There are excellent opportunities for visits to over 90 of Scotland's finest castles, gardens and battlefield sites.
The National Trust for Scotland is one of Scotland's leading conservation charities, which relies on the financial support of its members to fund its important work of caring for the natural and cultural heritage of Scotland.
