Win an All-Expenses-Paid Voluntourism Trip to Chile's Torres del Paine National Park

Known for its stunning turquoise lakes, pristine evergreen forests, and vast ice fields, Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park is a dream destination for scores of travelers and outdoor enthusiasts.

But given the park’s remote location, making the trip is not necessarily budget-friendly — everything from hotels to food come at a steeper price here.

Now for the good news: Las Torres Patagonia (a eserve located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park, dedicated to the conservation of Patagonian nature and culture) has just announced the third edition of its annual “10 Volunteers For 10 Days” contest, an initiative that includes an all-expenses-paid trip to the park for 10 lucky globetrotters.

Winners get a five-night visit to Torres del Paine National Park, round-trip airfare, and accommodations at Hotel Las Torres, located inside the park. The experience also includes curated excursions.

Those chosen will take part in a very meaningful voluntourism effort (now in its third year) focused on helping restore the Base Torres trail. Thanks in part to the past year’s volunteer efforts, the project has just reached a major milestone. One hundred percent of the trail’s first section, a 1.5-kilometer segment of sustainable trail, has been fully restored.

“But our journey doesn’t end here—there are 3 sections in total, and we need your help to restore the next one,” explains the Las Torres Patagonia website.

The regeneration project’s goal is to restore 3.3 kilometers of the trail in order improve safety, protect the environment, and enhance the visitor experience along one of Patagonia’s most visited and vulnerable routes.

“Through our voluntourism initiative, we aim to repair and rebuild heavily eroded trails, marking the beginning of a new era of sustainable, gently sloping paths that will protect the park’s ecosystem,” the contest webpage explains, adding: “For us, this restoration is essential both to preserve this iconic destination and to ensure the survival of its unique ecosystem.”

As a winner, you’ll immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Chilean Patagonia while actively supporting the restoration of the Base Torres trail in our Reserve, located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park.

So, how do you win one of the coveted 10 slots for this exciting social initiative experience?

10 Volunteers For 10 Days contest winners

Eligibility and how to enter 

First things first: Applications for the 10 Volunteers For 10 Days program are open to residents of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Chile, and Brazil. Those who enter must be at least 21 years old.

More importantly, act fast if you’re hoping to secure one of the 10 slots. The submission deadline is midnight, February 27.

Here are the additional key submission details:

Participants can enter by posting a video on Instagram (maximum 45 seconds). In their videos, participants should explain why responsible tourism and sustainability are important to them. The contest instructions add the following guidelines.

Step 1: Go to Instagram and share a short video with the hashtag #mygreenvideo or use the “add yours” template in our stories.

Step 2: In your video, explain why sustainability is important to you. (max 45s).

Step 3: Mention and follow @lastorres.patagonia

Step 4: Make sure your Instagram profile is public. (Your Instagram posts must be public in order to qualify.)

Judging and notification

After February 27, Las Torres Patagonia will announce the 10 winners on Instagram. Winners will also be notified via email.

The experience will be hosted over two sets of dates, which will be assigned at random. Five volunteers will be hosted from March 22–27, and an additional five winners will visit from March 28–April 2. Winners will receive non-refundable, round-trip airfare, ground transportation to and from Puerto Natales Airport, lodging, meals at Las Torres Patagonia, and a customized ecotourism itinerary led by professionals.
