Starting this fall, Seattle-based travelers will have convenient new flight options for traveling along the West Coast.
Alaska Airlines has announced plans to launch new flights and add more seats to West Coast destinations from Seattle Paine Field (PAE).
The airport, which sits just outside Seattle in nearby Everett, Washington, is beloved by travelers as a small facility with a relaxed and upscale feel.
“We’re excited that even more travelers will have the opportunity to experience our award-winning terminal and what makes Paine Field different, from valet parking and seamless security to the ease of use and lounge-like setting that put the customer experience first,” said Brett Smith, CEO of Propeller Airports.
Alaska plans to grow its seats departing Paine Field by 50% from this fall through spring 2027.
As part of the expansion, the carrier will launch new twice-daily service between Paine Field and San Jose, California (SJC), starting on April 14, 2027. The route will be operated by its regional subsidiary Horizon Air aboard an Embraer 175 jet.
The carrier is also introducing additional frequencies on existing routes out of Paine Field. Its route to Los Angeles (LAX) will grow to twice-daily service aboard a Boeing 737 plane, and service to Portland (PDX) will also increase to two flights per day.
Alaska will also add more seats on its routes from Paine to both San Diego and San Francisco.
“Alaska’s expanded service reflects what we continue to hear from travelers: there is strong demand for more convenient air service from Paine Field,” Smith said. “These added flights give travelers more nonstop options close to home and further strengthen Paine Field’s role in serving the region.”
