Winter Storm Linus Moving Across the Country

Following the blizzardy mess of Winter Storm Juno, and the New England-burying Winter Storm Kari, Linus is upon us, The Weather Channel reports. Major cities in the midwest and northeast may receive considerable snowfall with Chicago, Detroit, and Boston at the 12-18 inches, and New York City at 8-12 inches. As of late Saturday afternoon, Chicago is the first major city to canceled a number of flights. After dumping 15 inches of snow on Los Alamos, New Mexico and other Southwest locations today, the Mississippi Valley and Midwest will be hit tonight and into tomorrow. Sunday night into Monday will see the heaviest snowfall in the Mid-Atlantic and northeast as things clear up to the west.

Chicago O'Hare currently has 206 outbound and 199 inbound flight cancellations, according to FlightAware.com, and these numbers are steadily increasing. Travelers in the path of Linus should expect delays or more cancellations, so for quick news updates, keep watch on airline Twitter feeds.
