The Walt Disney Company unveiled new details for the
upcoming Zootopia land at the Shanghai Disney Resort, scheduled to debut later
this year.
Disney officials revealed exclusive information about the experiences,
attractions and other themed options coming to Zootopia, including the Zootopia:
Hot Pursuit attraction and custom food and beverage choices based on the film
franchise.
In the windows of Zootopia’s iconic buildings, theme park guests
will witness the brand’s most popular characters interacting with each other
and visitors, including Fru Fru, Mr. Big, Koslov, Flash, Yax, Duke Weaselton and
the Hopps family.
At the Zootopia: Hot Pursuit attraction, travelers will
become rookie police officers at the Zootopia Police Department (ZPD), where
they will help investigate the kidnapping of Gazelle on the day of an
anticipated concert.
Visitors will traverse Zootopia’s terrains in an action-filled
police chase with Officer Judy Hopps and her partner Nick Wilde, pursuing
Bellwether and her gang across Tundra Town, Sahara Square, Mystic Springs Oasis
and the Rainforest District. In addition, guests can take a selfie with Hopps
and Wilde at the Zootopia Recruitment Station.
For the foodies in the group, Zootopia will offer themed food
and beverage options at Jumbeaux’s Cafe, an ice cream shop from the film
franchise. Travelers can enjoy a Disney Zootopia popsicle, a Chocolate
Marshmallow or Officer Clawhauser’s favorite donuts.
The themed area of Shanghai Disney will also boast a
Zootopia-themed shop, dubbed Fashions by Fru Fru. Patrons can choose from
hundreds of themed products—including the Zootopia Cute collection—such as new
headwear, apparel, accessories and more.
Inside the store, visitors can also find two areas themed
after Yax and Duke Weaselton.
