A wave of bomb threats targeting commercial aircraft across
Europe forced multiple flights to divert on Thursday, creating widespread
travel disruptions and prompting emergency security responses at several
airports.
According to NBC News, one affected flight was an Aer Lingus Airbus A320
traveling from Dublin to Rome, which diverted to Évreux-Fauville Air Base in
France after receiving a security threat.
All 151 passengers and six crew members aboard the flight
were reported safe. French military bomb disposal teams inspected the aircraft,
while travelers underwent additional security screening.
More than a dozen flights departing from or traveling
through Copenhagen, Dublin, Helsinki, Madrid, Milan, and Warsaw were also
targeted. Several aircraft made emergency landings, while others were escorted
by military fighter jets, according to AirLive.
Three Ryanair flights bound for Sofia, Bulgaria, were among
those impacted by the bomb threats, with two landing safely at Sofia Airport
and another diverting to Plovdiv Airport.
The latest incidents follow similar threats earlier this
week, raising concerns about continued security disruptions across European air
travel.
