It doesn't seem possible that Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Disney royalty, never had their own major ride at any of the Disney parks, but that has been the case.
Disney will soon remedy that fact.
Starting in 2022, visitors to Disneyland Resort will be able to experience what it's like to step into a Disney cartoon on the Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railway ride.
Riders will go on their multi-dimensional adventure to the tune of an enjoyable theme song. Goofy will man the helm of the train, leading visitors throughout the ride.
News of this ride broke on Instagram when Josh D'Amaro, President of Disneyland Resort, shared a photo of himself with Mickey and Minnie looking over Toontown blueprints. Soon after, the news was shared on the Disney Parks Blog.
The announcement also noted that Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway will debut at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando in 2022, too.
While we still have a few years to go before the Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railway ride opens, it will give Disney fans another ride to get excited about after Star Wars Galaxy Edge opens this year.
