Go on Location with 'Game of Thrones'
Entertainment Lisa Iannucci July 26, 2017

If you’re a fan of HBO’s Game of Thrones, you’ve already seen the first episode of Season 7, which launched July 16.
In between episodes, consider booking a trip-of-a-lifetime to see exactly where your favorite fantasy thriller has been filming.
Travel to the Seven Kingdoms
Looking for the ultimate show experience? Global tour operator Friendly Planet Travel is offering trips to Game of Thrones' iconic filming destinations in Morocco, Croatia, Iceland and more.
Filming in Dubrovnik was especially important in Game of Thrones because it still maintains its medieval look. In Northern Ireland, the 400-million-year-old Cushendun Caves is where Melisandre birthed the shadow assassin. The abandoned Magheramorne Quarry became the site of the Castle Black set, and several city walls of King's Landing have been used for the Battle of the Blackwater.
According to Ireland.com, the Tollymore Forest Park, County Down, became the Haunted Forest where the White Walkers began their march into the realm of men.T
he Shillanavogy Valley, beneath Slemish Mountain in County Antrim, became the Dothraki grasslands where the Khalasar departs Pentos and rides to Vaes Dothrak.
Using Friendly Planet, fans can cruise to Croatia and discover King’s Landing in Dubrovnik and Daenery’s throne room at Diocletian’s Palace in Split on the Croatia Cruise Adventure for 11 days starting at $3,099.
Other eligible show-inspired trips include Best of Ireland, Iceland Adventure and Best of Morocco. Travelers can save an additional $100 to these destinations through August 15, when using promo code GOT2017.

Drink from the Iron Throne
If you can’t get to Europe but still want a fun experience, head to Washington D.C. where the Drink Company team is turning the former Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency and Eat the Rich spaces into five settings from the show.
Fans can experience the House of Black and White and the Red Keep, where you can pose for a photo as House Bolton's flayed man. There will be dragons and house banners along with a full-size replica of the Iron Throne.
Game of Thrones-inspired drinks will be served, including The North Remembers—a mix of scotch, oloroso and Cointreau with tropical flavors served in a horn—and the Dothraquiri, a tropical-sounding mix of rums and banana and cocoa liqueurs.
Ommegang's Bend the Knee—the Belgian-style golden ale that's the official beer of Game of Thrones—will be served on tap. Guests are encouraged to bring their friends and wear their best costume to the bars, which are open through August 27.

Party like a Lannister
If your trip is some time away, plan a party now to still enjoy the fun with the recipes in the Game of Thrones Companion Cookbook.
Fans looking to celebrate at home should consider planning a themed party. If you’ve always wanted to be at a Winterfell feast, the book offers recipes that will make it feel like you’re there. You can split a lemon cake with Sansa Stark, scarf down a pork pie with the Night’s Watch or indulge in honeyfingers with Daenerys Targaryen.
It also shows you how to decorate the table with wooden bowls and cutlery, metal plates and crystal goblets, to channel King’s Landing. Of course, it includes some fun GoT party games too!
