Disney is always looking to fully immerse guests visiting its theme parks in Florida and California, and the introduction of the Play Disney Parks mobile app on June 30 will help achieve that goal.
The Play Disney Parks app will use interactive experiences to give visitors access to a wide range of activities at Disney World and Disneyland, including themed games, Disney trivia, digital achievements, music and more.
With the help of Walt Disney Imagineering, the Play Disney Parks app was designed for families and guests to enjoy together. The group play options allow everyone to join the fun while staying fully engaged in the environments of the parks.
"Play Disney Parks represents the next step in how we use innovative digital technology to enhance the guest experience in our parks," Disney senior vice president Vivek Sharma said in a statement. "The app is designed to help guests immerse themselves in the Disney stories they know and love in a whole new way."
App users will also have their time waiting in lines transformed with in-queue games that allow guests to interact with the physical environment around them and activate special show effects.
In addition, visitors using the Play Disney Parks app will be able to earn and share themed achievements, listen to the songs and sounds of the Disney, uncover trivia and facts and more.
The Play Disney Parks app complements the popular My Disney Experience app at Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland App at Disneyland Resort.
