The latest trailer for Star Wars: Rogue One was released yesterday and fans are going crazy for all of the details and tidbits in the two-minute sneak peek.
Look harder behind the characters and the plot and you'll get a glimpse of just some of the settings around the world where director Gareth Edwards and his cast and crew filmed some of the pivotal moments. In the past, scenes from the movie have been shot everywhere from Guatemala, to Tunisia and Death Valley in California.
Iceland: According to Iceland magazine, the crew filmed scenes of the upcoming movie at this country's beautiful Eyjafjallajökull glacier and the Mýrdalssandur beach. Eyjafjallajökull, an ice cap that covers a volcano, is 5,417 feet tall and last erupted in 2010. The 271-square-mile Mýrdalssandur beach in Vik, Iceland, has black lava sand - where it gets its Black Sand Beach name -which is probably a great place for Darth Vader to go incognito.
Canary Wharf Underground Station: Maybe Galen Erso needed a new escape route, who knows, but the crew was spotted at London's Canary Wharf Tube during filming. Canary Wharf is also home to music events, restaurants, shows and more, but in this case it was used for a Stormtrooper attack. Depending on what site you go to on the internet, there is some debate as to what part of the underground station can be seen in the trailer.
Isle of Dogs: Also located in London, the Isle of Dogs, is bounded on three sides by the River Thames and is considered one of two financial nerve centers, but there are also pubs and cafes for tourists to enjoy. After all, It's always five o'clock somewhere, even for rebel fighters, right?
Maldives Laamu Atoll: Star Wars celebs Felicity Jones and Forest Whitaker were seen on this archipelago nation of the Republic of Maldives. One island that was used in the film was Baresdhu Island, which has been designated by the government for its guest house island project.

Jordan: You may not find the Death Star in Jordan, but you'll find a lot of things to see, including the Qasr Amra castle, built early in the 8th century. It is considered one of the most important examples of early Islamic art and architecture, so maybe it made its way into the movie.
With more trailers on the way, we'll have a better idea where else the film was shot around the world. Taking a film vacation and touring the spots where all of the Star Wars episodes have been shot would be fun and include such other locations as Phang Nga Bay, Guilin in China, Mount Etna in Italy and Grindelwald in Switzerland.
Star Wars: Rogue One is set to be released in December of this year.
