Universal Studios Hollywood is already one of the top tourist destinations in Los Angeles, but the theme park complex is already looking ahead to a new partnership with DreamWorks Animation.
Next year, Universal Hollywood will open the new DreamWorks Theatre, which will host a variety of themed attractions beginning with the multi-sensory adventure inspired by the film franchise Kung Fu Panda.
The attraction will use state-of-the-art projection mapping and LED lighting effects to create a fully immersive experience.
Starting this summer, popular DreamWorks characters will join Universal Hollywood to entertain guests and pose for photos. Some of the characters found in the theme park include Kung Fu Panda's Po and Tigress; Madagascar's Alex the Lion, The Penguins-Skipper, Rico, Kowalski and Private-and King Julian; Trolls' Poppy and Branch; and Shrek's Puss 'n Boots, Shrek and Fiona.
In addition, Hello Kitty fans can rejoice knowing that the cartoon cat and her many friends will begin appearing at the theme park in 2018. Not only will Hello Kitty be available for photos with guests, but items adorned with her likeness will also be found at Universal Hollywood shops.

Universal CityWalk Hollywood is also adding new and improved attractions, including the Universal Cinema renovations, which were headlined at the grand reopening by world-renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg.
"As a filmmaker, we create movies that invite moviegoers to enter other worlds, even if it's just for a couple of hours. In the best case scenario, the movie-going experience and its venue are on par with the movie that you came to enjoy," Spielberg said in a statement.
"Universal Cinema defines advancement and technology with this incredible new movie theatre. I am happy to be here at Universal CityWalk to join the official opening of the Universal Cinema, where movie-goers have a rare opportunity to see movies at the very place where movies are made."
Universal CityWalk Hollywood also hosted Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band as they celebrated the grand opening of the facility's newest dining experience, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.
Along with new eating establishments like Voodoo Doughnut and Dongpo Kitchen, the future is bright for Universal Studios Hollywood and its guests.
