With an assist from The Sugarhill Gang, Condor Ferries went all in on its own version of "Rapper's Delight" by crafting a safety rap that's catchy, cringeworthy, entertaining and awkward all at the same time.
But wait, it gets better, because the song is accompanied by an equally hilarious music video.
The jam runs two and a half minutes long and features a plethora of cheesy animations that thankfully help distract from the dismal dance moves.
The video, which was published to Condor Ferries' official YouTube page on March 20, was closing in on 45,000 views as of Thursday afternoon.
Unsurprisingly, the polarizing approach sparked some pretty interesting comments, from "I want to pour lava into my ears" to "brilliant."
"We're really proud of the new safety video, it's been a very fun project to work on, and we're delighted with the results," said Condor Ferries executive director Alicia Andrews via the Daily Mail. "Our brief was simple, we wanted something a little bit different, something that our passengers would sit up and take notice of, and which would appeal to all members of the family."
Andrews stressed the goal was to emphasize the good times one can experience on a ferry.
"We think that the rap, with the Good Times messaging does just that," she added. "We hope that our passengers, whether they are frequent travellers or joining us for the first time this summer will enjoy the video and their Good Times experience onboard Condor Liberation as we set sail to Jersey and Guernsey."
Headquartered in Guernsey, the ferry operator offers services between mainland England and many of the Channel islands situated between England and France.
