Beef (in the form of a burger), it what's for dinner at least some point during your travels, right?
The almighty burger is an American classic, just like the long road trips many took this summer and will continue to take in the fall. Food is a major player during such trips.
For some, it is even the sole purpose of the road trip.
Everybody has their favorite go-to spot at home, but next time you're traveling, consider feasting on juicy, beefy burgers from one of these great locales:
Holeman & Finch Burger
Head down south to Atlanta, Georgia for this special treat. Originally, the only time you could eat this burger was at 10 p.m., and only 24 were made each night.
They were absolutely worth the wait, and the popularity grew. There's a reason the Atlanta Braves picked this burger, as its now available at all home games in The Battery at Sun Trust Park. You can also get this double patty with house-made pickles at Ponce City Market, which is across from Historic Fourth Ward Park.

Juicy Lucy Burger
Matt's Bar spells it Jucy Lucy, and the 5-8 Club spells it, Juicy Lucy. Either way, you have to try both next time you're in Minnesota. These two have been battling since the 1950s over who invented it.
So if you're a true burger connoisseur, head to Minneapolis and decide for yourself which establishment is the true master of a burger with the cheese in the middle. (Just make sure not to lose any as it oozes out.)
The Cellar at Duckworth's
Back down south in Charlotte, North Carolina, you'll find the perfect way to compliment an excellent burger: beer!
The Cellar was once a Speakeasy during prohibition years, and today it is home to well over 400 different beers. Before you get the burger that's made with a chuck and brisket grind, gruyere cheese, onion jam and jalapeno bacon, you must take a tour in the Vintage Beer Cellar.
It's set to a cool 55 degrees, and the restaurant's superb staff will help guide you in the direction of a fantastic beer to pair with that equally awesome burger.

Heart Attack Grill
This is all about the burger experience. And where else would it be located but Las Vegas?
Set up in a hospital theme with waitresses dressed as nurses, you can dawn a hospital gown and eat for free if you weigh over 350 lb. Order a single, double, triple or a "quadruple bypass" if you're feeling super hungry. You know going in that what you're about to consume is not healthy, but it's going to be tasty.
The Chains
There is a seemingly endless amount of options when it comes to the "fast food" burger.
That said, not every fast food burger is created equal. Some are far superior to others, and everybody has their own opinion on which reigns supreme. If you're in a hurry and need a good burger, but have never hit one of these six (alphabetically listed) eateries before, add them to your burger bucket list:
- 5 Guys
- Culver's
- In and Out
- Shake Shack
- Steak & Shake
- Whataburger
