The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and Tourism Western Australia together announced that conservationist and TV personality Robert Irwin is the first speaker for the WTTC Global Summit happening October 8 through the 10th in Perth, Western Australia.
Robert Irwin, the son of Steve Irwin, is a conservationist, TV presenter, producer, author and photographer. He’s journeyed across the globe championing conservation.
“We are delighted to have Robert Irwin joining us and addressing attendees at our upcoming Global Summit,” said Julia Simpson, WTTC President & CEO. “His work in conservation and his ability to use his platform to drive positive change resonate with our mission. Western Australia is a region that not only showcases stunning natural beauty but also represents a commitment to sustainability and cultural diversity.”
The 24th Global Summit, which is the travel industry’s most important event, has a theme of “Ancient Land: New Perspectives,” inspired by Western Australia’s rich heritage, natural history and sustainable growth.
“Robert Irwin is a household Australian name so we’re very excited to have secured him for this prestigious event,” said Western Australia’s Deputy Premier and Tourism Minister, the Hon. Rita Saffioti MLA. “Robert’s passion for wildlife and nature definitely make him an ideal speaker for this event, and I have no doubt he’ll be a major drawcard for attendees.”
The 2023 Global Summit was held last year in Kigali, Rwanda, with a theme of “Building Bridges to a Sustainable Future.”
