Bass Pro Shops is in agreement to purchase the fishing and sporting resort, Cheeca Lodge & Spa, located in the Florida Keys.
The lodge will be the second resort owned by Bass Pro Shops. Its first, Big Cedar Lodge in the Missouri Ozarks, welcomed 7.5 million guests a year and preserves half of the resort’s 24,000 acres as part of the non-profit Johnny Morris Conservation Foundation.
Cheeca Lodge is an impressive resort, offering cottages and lodges, three swimming pools, a 9-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed par-3 golf course, a historic fishing pier, meeting and event spaces, tennis and golf courses, waterfront dining, a full-service spa and more.
Bass Pro Shops will continue the lodge’s efforts to preserve the natural beauty and wildlife of the region that’s so popular with fishing enthusiasts.
“We were very excited to learn that Johnny and Bass Pro Shops will be expanding their involvement in the Keys,” said Nick Wiley, Executive Director of the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida. “They have been true leaders in conservation, standing alongside us with habitat work, restoring fisheries, educating future generations, and ensuring the outdoor traditions remain strong for years to come. They support communities that make the fishing culture so special.”
