In commemoration of April’s Autism Acceptance Month, travel advisors who book stays at Beaches resorts this month can offer their clients the services of a Beaches Buddy, who provides children on the spectrum with individualized support.
The commissionable offer is valid for travel from August 22, 2026, through November 2, 2026
“For travel advisors, this means a trusted option with built-in support for neurodiverse families,” the all-inclusive resort company said. “Beaches Buddies can assist for a few hours or throughout the stay, accompanying children during activities or providing support in a sensory-friendly setting.
Beaches is arguably a pioneer in its support for families traveling with kids on the spectrum
“Beaches is the first resort company in the world to complete the rigorous International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) training and Autism Certification, offering families with children with autism and other special needs specialized service, engaging activities, custom dining options and a welcoming environment so that all families may enjoy a memorable and relaxing vacation,” the company said.
Its Beaches Buddies are IBCCES-accredited, and will provide families as much or as little assistance as they want at a nominal fee.
Beaches’ properties also feature Special Services Teams, who are also IBCCES certified and can be reached through a “dedicated toll-free hotline during the vacation planning phase to receive tailored recommendations for experiences, suggestions of on-site locations to minimize sensory triggers, arrangements for specialized cleaning products to address sensitivities, and advice on the most convenient airport transportation options,” the company said
Through its partnership with IBCCES, resorts also feature sensory guides, who aid advisors and families with “detailed sensory ratings for activities, autism-friendly certified locations and helpful tips for a stress-free stay,” Beaches said.
And thanks to its long-standing partnership with Sesame Street, Beaches introduced Julia, a 4-year-old character with autism, along with the Amazing Art with Julia activity.
Autism Inclusion Week take place Oct. 19-23, 2026, at Beaches Turks & Caicos.
