Curacao offers up warm waters, spectacular natural beauty, some of the Caribbean's best marine life and best of all, it's outside of the hurricane zone. With so much going for it, the island is a natural for families looking to get away to someplace warm.

To make it even easier for families looking to take a vacation, Sunscape Resorts & Spas, with properties in Curacao and throughout the Caribbean, can enjoy up to 50-percent savings in addition to $400 in resort coupons when they book a vacation by January 10, 2018, for travel through April 2, 2018.

Once there, consider these family-friendly activities:

Hato Caves

Experience the island from the other side when you journey into the Hato Caves. Located on the north side of the island, these caves are more than 200,000 years old and are unique in that they are found on the third terrace or layer of the island. The caves are home to long-nose bats and iguanas, as well as limestone formations and water pools.

Maritime Museum

Head here to learn about the island's more than 500 years of maritime history, illustrated through a permanent exhibition of nautical charts, ship models and more. Children under the age of six can tour for free; children between six and 12 pay only half price.

Dolphin Academy

Everyone from the littlest visitor on up to grandma and grandpa will enjoy the chance to learn and interact with these gentle and fun-loving marine mammals. Located on the site of the Curacao Sea Aquarium, the facility offers dolphin training demonstrations and a variety of experiences from a dolphin encounter in shallow water to an open-water dolphin dive experience, one of only three offered in the world.

Sea Aquarium Park Curacao

With so much to see and do, families may wish to spend a day exploring the many exhibits and interacting with the animals. In addition to an impressive array of marine life on display, visitors can meet, greet and feed the flamingoes and even snorkel or dive with turtles, sharks and stingrays as part of the animal encounters.

Curacao Ostrich Farm

A visit to this farm, one of the largest breeding farms outside of Africa, is guaranteed to please. Kids will thrill at the chance to take a safari tour of the farm and possibly even ride or feed one of these strange looking birds. After a visit to the gift shop, families looking to learn and see more of the island can book a quad tour of the area, and for a treat, enjoy a meal at the Restaurant Zambezi, where diners can enjoy a variety of dishes, ostrich or otherwise.
