Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel brands, is celebrating its 20th anniversary by expanding the Green Collection, which offers over 220 hotels, resorts and palaces who are committed to sustainability and responsible management practices.
Each Green Collection property attains at least one certification from a selection of eighteen globally recognized organizations, such as Green Key or EarthCheck, and is aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The Green Collection, launched in March 2023, has grown with new additions like the NH Collection, Dubai The Palm and Pan Pacific London. The collection offers accommodations across 44 countries and 23 brands. Ultra-luxury member properties include Djibouti Palace Kempinski Hotel, Corinthia Palace Hotel and Capella Ubud.
For the Green Collection’s first anniversary, GHA DISCOVERY, the alliance’s loyalty program, will donate $1 for every Green Collection stay booked directly during the month of April to several of the charities it currently supports.
“As we mark one year of success for this collection, launched in March 2023, we applaud all the hotels, resorts and palaces who have come together to make a difference,” said Jelena Kezika, Senior Director of Strategy at GHA.
“Not only was Green Collection designed to help consumers, it was also meant to help hotels start or continue their sustainable journey by working together, sharing success stories and best practices, and providing guidance on initiatives to undertake to expand the collective impact," Kezika continued.
