Travelers who visit southern New Jersey will be happy to hear the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is scheduled to open June 28.
Officials representing the Hard Rock brand announced in a three-part press conference Wednesday that the former Taj Mahal property had already booked 300 entertainment acts with tickets sales for 60 shows starting Friday.
The Press of Atlantic City revealed some of the musical acts and comedians coming to the new Hard Rock facility include Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, George Thorogood, Howie Mandel, Kid Rock, Rascal Flatts, Steely Dan, Third Eye Blind, Toby Keith and more.
The three simultaneous press conferences took place at the Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia, the Hard Rock Cafe New York City and the Hard Rock Atlantic City, and that’s where Hard Rock Chairman Jim Allen revealed the company’s goals for the new facility.
“When we announced that we were going to step in the AC gaming market, we had a different viewpoint,” Allen said in a statement. “It's not about gaming, it's about entertainment.”
Officials also revealed all rooms and restaurants at the new Hard Rock hotel were gutted and redesigned, and the former Etess Arena concert venue was revamped and renamed the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena.
In addition to expanding musical acts to encompass weekdays instead of just the weekends, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will also feature more than 2,100 slot machines and 120 table games.
Hard Rock International originally purchased the Taj Mahal in March 2017 and has added over $500 million in renovations.
