Long a fixture on the Dallas hospitality landscape, The Intercontinental Dallas is changing ownership and being rebranded.

The hotel was recently purchased by Columbia Sussex, one of the nation's largest franchisers of Marriott hotels. The property will now become the Renaissance Dallas Addison, according to a statement released by Columbia Sussex.

As part of the change in ownership, renovations have begun on the Dallas property.

"The revamped hotel embraces what makes the city unique while staying true to the Renaissance brand's commitment to stylish, thought-provoking spaces and unexpected experiences for business and leisure travelers," the company said in a statement.

Located in the heart of the Dallas Metroplex, the former Intercontinental property includes 528 guestrooms and suites and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel also offers a fitness center, outdoor pool, and spa services.

The property's restaurant and bar will also be rebranded as part of the ownership change. They will now be known as the Noell JCT Restaurant & Lounge.

Columbia Sussex has brought in the award-winning design firm DiLeonardo to oversee the redesign of the property and ensure that it is up to Marriott standards. The firm has been tasked with refreshing the Texas hotel's ballrooms, meeting spaces and pre-function areas.

To complete this effort, the design team has drawn inspiration from the journeys travelers take in and out of the town of Addison, where the hotel is located, to enjoy local culture, including fine theater, fine art, music, and cuisine.

"This blend of movement, interaction and activity reflects the historic industries of oil and cattle that have shaped the growth of Addison today," the company said. "Taking inspiration from these elements, the designers infused this theme into the furniture, lighting, fabric, and finishes, incorporating industrial materials such as metals, wood, and leather."

In addition, unique and interactive art pieces are located throughout the hotel, giving guests fun and highly Instagrammable moments to remember.

"We are excited to officially unveil the Renaissance Dallas Addison to locals and visitors alike, and trust that our ambition won't go unnoticed as we aim to provide guests with the best possible service and experience," Francie Syron, director of sales and marketing, said in a statement. "The revamped hotel embraces what makes the city unique while staying true to the Renaissance brand's commitment to stylish, thought-provoking spaces and unexpected experiences for business and leisure travelers."
