Universal Orlando has begun accepting travel agent bookings for its newest property, the 1,000-room Loews Sapphire Falls Resort
The Caribbean-theme resort is scheduled to debut next summer and will be set amid a tropical-style lagoon and waterfall. It will be the fifth property in Universal Orlando's portfolio of hotels. When it opens, the resort will bring Universal Orlando's room count to 5,200.
One of the resort's signature features will be a 16,000-foot zero entry pool, complete with a sandy beach, water slide, cabanas and fire pit.
The property will also be equipped with a considerable number of dining options, including one that ties into its Caribbean theme, the indoor/outdoor Amatista Cookhouse with an exhibition kitchen. A lobby lounge, Strong Water Tavern, will provide sweeping views of Sapphire Fall's waterfalls and feature a tapas-style menu. Other food-and-beverage options will include a poolside bar and grill and grab-and-go marketplace.
Sapphire Falls features three levels of accommodations. Its off-season rates range from $119 per night for seven nights to $143 per night for four nights. Summer rates range from $176 per night for seven nights and $206 for four nights. Rates include water taxi service and shuttle bus transportation to the theme parks and Universal CityWalk.
Reservations are being accepted for stays from July 14 onward.
