How to make it better? Well, whether you're in the Bahamas or Bethany, Del., these nine tips will take your elevate your beach trip.
Freezer pack hacks. The only problem with lugging a heavy cooler to the beach is lugging one almost as heavy back to the car or house. Instead, consider these freezer pack hacks. Freeze juice boxes beforehand and use them to keep things chilled. Then as they start to thaw, instant slushie. Or, soak then freeze sponge leis. Place them in a plastic bag and as they begin to thaw, use them to cool down little ones who have laboring under the sun to make the best sandcastle ever. Best of all, fill and freeze water balloons. The rest is self-explanatory.
Parenting. Bring a small inflatable baby pool. Not only is it a great option for little ones who want to splash in the water but aren't yet big enough to sit down by the waves but, come nap time, line it with towels, move it under the umbrella and voila, you have a beach crib.
Get fit. Instead of watching another YouTube video on how to fold a fitted sheet in three easy steps, unfurl that sheet and use your cooler, pool noodles and even books to create a sand-free zone for eating.
Baby powder. It's not just for babies anymore. In fact, baby powder will be your new BFF this summer. There's no easier way to rid yourself of sandy feet and legs (and whatever other parts might get sandy) than with a sprinkle or two of baby powder. Rub gently and marvel as the sand falls away, leaving nice clean and, hopefully, skin free of sunburn.
Mesh is in. Sand has a way of getting into every nook and cranny, but kiss that problem good bye with mesh beach bags. A few shakes and the sand is gone, saving you the hassle of bringing a bunch of it back to the hotel.
Tattoo do. Can't commit to a permanent tattoo? Fear not. Create a design with some sunscreen, enjoy a nap in the sun and you will be the proud owner of a tattoo … at least until your tan fades.

Sun day, spa day. Sitting on the beach doesn't mean forgoing a day at the spa. In fact, it's the perfect time to multi-task. Give yourself a green tea facial (steep tea in cold water for several hours then pour into a spray bottle), deep condition your hair and catch up on your celebrity gossip all in one fell swoop.
Safety first. Educate yourself on how to recognize a rip tide, and just as importantly how to escape one--swim parallel to the shore until you are out of the current and can swim back to shore.
Sunburn remedy. Got a little too much sun? Skip the pharmacy and head to the grocery store. Homemade remedies using raw honey, plain yogurt, apple cider vinegar and even black tea to help sooth sunburns and take the sting away.
