Tony Perrone, AAA Manager for Mexico, bestowed the awards to three properties' general managers during a ceremony held at Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun. Continuing a 78-year-old tradition, AAA's professionally trained inspectors use published guidelines to conduct unannounced hotel and restaurant evaluations, assigning approved establishments a rating of One to Five AAA Diamonds. Properties identified by AAA as possible candidates for a Five Diamond rating undergo multiple evaluations and are finally selected by a panel of experts.
Palace Resorts continues to shine through the rating system with premium service standards, personalized guest experiences and outstanding on-site amenities. Le Blanc Spa Resort was a standout in the annual rankings, which are reserved for superior properties that exemplify the highest level of excellence in every facet of operation. Only one-third of one percent of the more than 30,000 lodgings rated by the American Automobile Association, achieve this coveted Five Diamond Award designation.
Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort received the Four Diamond Award for the second consecutive year. The property, consisting of three luxurious sections - Moon Grand, Sunrise and Nizuc, is a family resort that offers something for everyone; 2,457 luxury rooms, including accommodations overlooking the sea and the garden or suites with view to the golf course.
