Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel brand, is launching a new wellbeing program to help wellness-centric travelers find hotels and resorts that fit their desires, called Preferred Wellbeing.
Preferred Wellbeing hotels, a collection of over fifty properties around the world, offer immersive wellness experiences at every level. From large spas to nature retreats and culinary programs designed with nutrition in mind, these properties are designed around the concept of wellness.
Some of the properties in this new category include Almar Giardino di Costanza Mazara del Vallo in Sicily, where Roman-Arab hammam rituals combine with 21st century scientific advancements; 7132 Hotel in the Swiss Alps, where mineral-rich springs offer a truly healing hydrotherapy experience; and Corcovado Wilderness Lodge by SCP allows travelers to reconnect with nature through experience, food and more in one of the world’s most biodiverse places.
Preferred’s recent Luxury Travel Report found that over a third of luxury travelers actively seek out transformational wellness experiences, with 77% defining luxury as a way to disconnect and reset.
“We are thrilled to introduce Preferred Wellbeing, which reflects an elevated focus on holistic wellness across our global portfolio,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. “Our latest research shows that travelers are increasingly prioritizing experiences that support physical, mental, and transformative wellbeing. Preferred Wellbeing was created to help guests easily discover and book hotels that are defining what’s next in the wellness space.”
Each property within the collection is evaluated based on five core wellbeing pillars and twelve defined criteria, ranging from rest and recovery to movement, connection to place and environmental responsibility.
