The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio has embarked on a $500 million Hall of Fame Village development project which will be comprised of eight components, one of which is a four-star hotel and conference center.
This week, the Midwest tourist attraction, which is working with developer Industrial Reality Group on the project, revealed design details and renderings of the planned hotel.
Construction on the 243-room hotel is scheduled to begin in September with the grand opening slated for May 2018.
Upon completion, the football-themed hotel will be highlighted by a massive lobby featuring 40-foot ceilings, a fireplace and multiple projection screens. The sports museum said the lobby will serve as the "living room" for the village.
A VIP perch and meeting space will sit above the lobby overlooking the grand entrance.

The hotel's ballroom will be able to accommodate up to 600 guests but smaller meeting spaces will be available as well.

Fittingly, the hotel's guestrooms will feature football themes, highlighted by the two-story Commissioner Suite.
The hotel will also include a restaurant that will boast views of the Hall of Fame Village's bustling main street.
The hotel will be operated by Crestline Hotel & Resorts but it's currently undetermined whether the hotel and conference center will be branded as the Hall of Fame hotel or carry another flag.
"This final design concept is consistent with the goal of making Hall of Fame Village world class," said IRG President and Chairman and the project's master developer Stuart Lichter in a statement. "This hotel will be extraordinary and unlike anything ever created."
