Relais & Châteaux Adds Five New Properties to Luxury Portfolio This Fall

Luxury independent hotel and restaurant portfolio Relais & Châteaux has added five new hotels to its portfolio this fall, including two upcoming properties in Italy and Germany. 

The brand, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, has added a total of 31 hotels, resorts, lodges and restaurants to its portfolio this year. In addition to the five new lodgings, it also added a new restaurant, the two-Michelin-starred Relais & Châteaux The Modern in New York City. 

"For 70 years, our Association has pursued an unwavering quest for excellence, with the goal of nurturing a unique sense of place in hospitality and gastronomy,” said Laurent Gardinier, the company’s president. “I am delighted to welcome these six new members to Relais & Châteaux, who are committed to sharing and preserving their regional culture, cuisine, and natural heritage.” 

Relais & Châteaux Botanique Hotel Experience, Campos do Jordão, Brazil

The new Relais & Châteaux Botanique Hotel Experience is designed to connect travelers with the protected reserve in which it’s located. It offers seven suites and 13 villas and accepts children over 15 years old. It features a farm-to-table restaurant, jazz bar and spacious spa. Experiences include bird watching excursions, horseback riding and more. 

Relais & Châteaux CasaMolle, Vicuña, Chile

Located south of the Atacama Desert is the 42-acre estate of Relais & Châteaux CasaMolle. With 24 rooms, the all-inclusive property offers a large outdoor swimming pool, scenic views of the Elqui Valley and river, a Chilean restaurant and plenty of activities, from touring the local vineyard to kayaking along the river. Stargazing is a favorite treat in the region known for its amazing night skies. 

Relais & Châteaux Vetera Matera, Matera, Italy

Opening March 15, 2025 is the unique property, Relais & Châteaux Vetera Matera. Located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Matera, the 23-room hotel uses some of the region’s unique paleolithic Sassi, cave-like stone dwellings, that make it so unique. It’s home to a restaurant, large terraces with views of the area and a spa. 

Relais & Châteaux Hotel Diepeschrather Mühle, Bergisch Gladbach, Germany

Another upcoming property is the Relais & Châteaux Hotel Diepeschrather Mühle, opening March 2025. The 25-room hotel is a relaxing retreat a half-hour away from Cologne and will feature Chef Nelson Müller’s Bistro Müllers in der Mülhe restaurant, which offers farm-to-table cuisine. There are two restaurants in total on-property, along with a spa with an outdoor heated pool.

Relais & Châteaux Storfjord Hotel, Øvre Glomset, Norway

Further north is where the last new member is located: the Relais & Châteaux Storfjord Hotel in Norway. The 30-room hotel offers stunning views of the country’s beloved fjords, a library, spa with forest views and plenty of seasonal outdoor activities, from skiing to fishing and more. The hotel also features a Scandinavian restaurant spearheaded by Nils Flatmark.
