RIU Hotels & Resorts has received an award for its significant environmental progress at the Sustainability Day event, recently organized by CompromisoRSE, a Spanish media outlet specializing in Corporate Social Responsibility.
RIU was honored in the Sustainability Actions category for having achieved Ecostars certification for 100% of its operational hotels, and for ensuring that 90% of the electricity consumed across all its facilities comes from renewable sources.
The event brought together over 700 industry professionals for a day filled with workshops and learning sessions focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) trends. During the awards ceremony—which honors the best initiatives from companies, entities, and organizations—our colleagues Catalina Alemany, CSR Director, and Xisca Sitjar, Operational Sustainability Manager, accepted the award on behalf of the entire RIU family.
