Integrated travel company Sunwing Travel Group announced a new deal with Planet Hollywood Thursday. The partnership was established to help Planet Hollywood build its hotel operations around the world.
Thanks to the deal with Sunwing Travel Group, Planet Hollywood is jumping into the luxury all-inclusive category with the opening of Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Costa Rica in fall 2018 and Planet Hollywood Resort Cancun in spring 2019.
The Planet Hollywood brand has found success in the gaming, restaurant, lodging, retail, leisure and entertainment sectors for more than 25 years. With the help of Sunwing, Planet Hollywood is looking to expand its global footprint.
"The Planet Hollywood brand has always been about delivering unique and memorable experiences that translate into lifelong memories for our guests," Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl said in a statement.
"I am so excited to partner with Sunwing Travel Group and cannot wait to get started with the first spectacular locations in Costa Rica and Cancun. This is the perfect opportunity to bring 'fame' a lot closer to all customers by leveraging Sunwing Travel Group's proven track record of successfully operating and rapidly expanding premier hotel brands."
Sunwing Travel Group will act as master hotel franchisor for the Planet Hollywood brand, including building and operating new resorts, as well as offering management services and franchise opportunities to prospective Planet Hollywood Hotels and Resorts worldwide.
When the new Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Costa Rica opens later this year, it will be the first resort under this new agreement. All of the resorts will use technology, music and architecture to heighten the experience.
