As if travelers needed more motivation to leave North America's nasty winter weather in the rearview mirror, a handful of the Caribbean's most popular destinations are offering travel packages that allow vacationers to escape Old Man Winter's icy grip for some sun and fun.
Barbados' Mango Bay Hotel Group is partnering with the Barbados Tourism Authority for "Island Inclusive" packages offering travelers who book vacations by March 31 on-island spending vouchers that can be redeemed at participating restaurants, attractions and car rental companies. The vouchers are available to vacationers who book stays between May 1 and Dec. 19, 2014 at the Mango Bay Hotel in Holetown or Bridgetown's Island Inn Hotel. Guests who book stays of up to three nights will receive cash vouchers of $200 (Barbados dollars) per person while guests booking stays of up to five nights will receive $300 vouchers. Guests will also receive a list of participating service providers upon check-in.
The Bahamas' Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board is teaming up with several Paradise Island resorts to offer $250 in "Instant Savings" to travelers who book an air-inclusive stay of four nights or more by March 3, 2014 at any of the program's participating hotels. The offer applies to travel through Aug. 31, 2014.
Several of the participating properties have also launched new spring offers. Atlantis, Paradise Island's "Spring Travel Offer" features special rates starting from $59 per person, per night for a family of four, in addition to a $300 resort credit. Accommodations must be booked by March 3 for travel through Aug. 31, 2014. Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island in Nassau is offering guests up to 65 percent off rates for spring 2014 stays. Nassau's Graycliff Hotel is offering 25 percent off bookings made by April 30 for travel between April 27 and Dec. 20, 2014. Under the offer rates start at $262.50 per night, double occupancy.
Guests who book four or six nights at the Melia Nassau Beach Resort between March 1 and June 30, 2014 will receive the last night free. Under the offer, rates start at $159 per room, per night, double occupancy. Guests can also opt for all-inclusive stays starting at $179. Bookings must be made by March 31.
Sirenis Hotels & Resorts, operators of the Dominican Republic's Sirenis Punta Cana Resort & Aquagames and the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa in Mexico, is offering a "Free Destination Wedding" package available with all 2014 bookings. The packages feature the services of a wedding coordinator, plus a ceremony minister, bouquet and boutonniere, decorated wedding location, music and a sparkling wine toast with appetizers and a wedding cake. The newlyweds will also receive breakfast in bed with a gift and a romantic dinner for two following the ceremony. The packages are available to couples who book a total of 10 rooms, each with a minimum stay of four nights, by Dec. 31, 2014.
Travelers who book a one-bedroom loft or a two- or three-bedroom beach house the Hopkins Bay Belize Resort by May 1, 2014 will receive discounted rates ranging from $187 to $505 per night, depending on accommodations, plus early and late check-in and a $200 resort credit for three-bedroom beach house bookings. Guests will also receive a welcome cocktail plus complimentary parking and Wi-Fi. The offer applies to bookings of three nights or more for travel through Dec. 20, 2014.
