Travel + Leisure Co. is announcing two major acquisitions this week to its hotel and resort portfolio, with the closing of the purchase of the Yes& Vacations brand and a new agreement to acquire Spinnaker Resorts, for a combined purchase price of $343 million.
The Yes& Vacations brand adds seven properties in Maui and a flagship island-inspired resort on the Las Vegas Strip. In addition, Spinnaker Resorts will add six Hilton Head properties to T + L’s resort portfolio, along with select resorts in Ormond Beach, Branson and Williamsburg. There will be 23 new resorts added to the brand’s portfolio in total.
“Acquiring these companies strategically expands our presence in premier leisure destinations, adding quality inventory in markets where new development is challenging,” said Michael D. Brown, President and CEO of Travel + Leisure Co. “Combined, these transactions significantly expand our resort and owner base, creating meaningful opportunities to generate incremental revenue across our vacation ownership ecosystem.”
Travel + Leisure Co. is expanding from its media-centric approach to become a vacation travel brand, with vacation clubs and affiliated resorts offering vacation ownership opportunities, in addition to its signature magazine. Under its portfolio is Sports Illustrated Resorts, Accor Vacation Club, Margaritaville Vacation Club, Club Wyndham and more.
“We are proud of what our team has built and deeply grateful to the owners and associates who have been part of this journey,” said Anthony Twist, CEO of Yes& Companies. “Joining Travel + Leisure Co. creates extraordinary opportunities for our people, our owners and our resorts. The company is a recognized leader in vacation ownership, shares our commitment to hospitality and has the scale and resources to carry Yes& Vacations into its next chapter.”
