While glamping is a very luxurious way of getting up close with nature, it is not the only way to sleep outside under the stars with all the comforts of home.

As Nicolle Monico writes in JustLuxe, "sometimes we'd like to take in the natural beauty around us in the comfort of a luxury hotel, and not in the middle of the wilderness."

And where better to do that than in New York City.

"During New York's warmer months, AKA Central Park offers an al fresco accommodation for those who book the penthouse suite. The residence features a 1,000-square-foot, wrap-around terrace where the property will set up a queen-sized bed for guests to stargaze under the Manhattan skyline for an evening," says Monico.

In Italy, you can sleep under the stars at L'Albereta Relais & Chateaux.

"Although the Cabriolet Suite at L'Albereta isn't the largest accommodation at the property, it's got one pretty impressive perk: a retractable roof," Monico points out.

And in the Maldives, you can stare at the stars at Gili Lankanfushi in one of their 45 overwater bungalows that feature open-air living rooms.
