It seemed like the United Kingdom was going to remain resilient after a spate of terror attacks-one at an Ariana Grande concert and one on London's Tower Bridge.
But after a third attack killed nine people on the London Bridge and the Borough Market in early May, visitors have started to cancel trips.
In its annual review of popular summer travel destinations, Allianz found London was on the top of the list with a 37 percent increase over the previous year. However, after the latest terror attack in the U.K., Allianz has received more than 100 cancellations from visitors.
Allianz customers looking to cancel their trips will get their money back. Allianz provides assistance to travelers, allowing them to cancel plans up to 30 days prior to a trip when there is a tragic event such as a terror attack.
"Many travelers are interested in purchasing travel insurance so that they may have the option to cancel or interrupt their trip should there be a terrorist event at their destination within 30 days of their arrival," said Daniel Durazo, director of communications at Allianz Global Assistance USA.

Allianz also assists travelers while they are on their vacation. Travelers can interrupt their trip in the unfortunate event of a terror attack, and Allianz policies will cover unused non-refundable expenses plus extra expenses to return home on short notice.
Prior to the June 3 attack, London topped the list of popular travel destinations, with Paris in the second spot. Rome, Athens and Barcelona were in the top five.
While cancellations may be pouring in at the moment, travelers are likely to remain resilient overall.
