Gas Prices Drop Again Despite November Hurricanes

The weather can have an effect on everything. Even gas prices.

Several infrequent November hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin have slowed the growth of fuel prices. Slowed, but not stopped.

AAA is reporting that the price of gas fell again last week, albeit by three cents per gallon nationally. The average price of a gallon of fuel is now $3.10.

“Gas prices often freeze as a hurricane enters the gulf, and oil production and refining are threatened,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. “But once Hurricane Rafael passes, pump prices should soon regain their downward momentum.”

Hurricane Rafael is currently active in the Gulf Coast, but is expected to dissipate as it approaches Texas and Louisiana.

Kilowatt-per-hour cost remained at 34 cents at public charging stations.
