Another winter storm is causing travel headaches across the United States as airports are canceling flights and highways are congested due to weather-related accidents.
The storm system is bringing snow and freezing rain Tuesday to New York, Massachusetts, Illinois, Indiana and even portions of northern Texas. The wintery conditions have caused more than 460 cancellations at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, according to FlightAware.com.
Other airports reporting delays and cancellations include Boston's Logan International, New Jersey's Newark Liberty International and New York's LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International.
Several airlines serving impacted airports are waiving change and cancellation fees. Travelers are being advised to call their carrier ahead of time to ensure their flight is still on time.
The National Weather Service will cause icy road conditions, wind gusts and reduced visibility throughout Tuesday and into Wednesday. Wind gusts are expected to reach 40 miles per hour and impacted areas could see as much as four inches of snow.
Parts of New York and Vermont could get as much as 12 inches of snow.
The storm has already caused several deaths, including six in crashes throughout Iowa and two more in Missouri due to icy road conditions. There were also more than 70 weather-related injuries in accidents Monday.
