The Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) announces two new leadership appointments strengthening the organization’s operational and island-based capabilities. Kevin Fujinaga joins as senior director, operations and client servicing for Meet Hawaiʻi, effective 16 June, and Catherine Cambra joins as island director for the Island of Hawaiʻi Visitors Bureau, effective 16 July.
Kevin Fujinaga Named Senior Director, Operations & Client Servicing
In leading the operations and client servicing teams, Kevin is building the processes and standards that connect day-to-day work to long-term goals, giving Meet Hawaiʻi’s citywide and single property sales teams the operational support they need to win convention and meetings business.
“Kevin has a rare ability to translate complex, cross-functional challenges into clear, executable systems,” said Lynn Whitehead, vice president, MCI global sales, Meet Hawaiʻi. “As Meet Hawaiʻi continues to elevate its client services, his leadership will bring the discipline and alignment our operations and client servicing teams need to perform at the highest level, and our clients will feel the difference.”
Kevin brings more than a decade of leadership experience in program management, strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence in Hawaiʻi. He most recently served as vice president and engagement program manager at Bank of Hawaiʻi, where he led complex initiatives requiring cross-functional coordination and delivered measurable results.
Catherine Cambra Named Island Director, Island of Hawaiʻi
As island director for the Island of Hawaiʻi Visitors Bureau, Catherine serves as HVCB’s senior on-island leader. She manages relationships with county leadership, community partners, and industry members while carrying HVCB’s enterprise strategy forward across Hawaiʻi Island.
“Catherine brings genuine, long-standing relationships with county leaders, cultural practitioners, and community partners across Hawaiʻi Island,” said Elizabeth Loomis, vice president, island integration and operations, HVCB. “Her firsthand understanding of this island will sharpen how we deliver on our contractual commitments and serve our members here.”
Throughout the past fifteen years, Catherine has garnered leadership experience across communications, marketing, and hospitality, including expertise in Hawaiʻi Island’s visitor industry. She most recently served as director of marketing at Fairmont Orchid, Hawaiʻi, where she led strategic marketing initiatives and advanced partnerships connecting tourism with environmental stewardship. She is a former board chair of the Island of Hawaiʻi Visitors Bureau.
