Majestic Resorts is pleased to welcome Lucien Echavarria to the team as Director of Sales and Strategic Partnership, USA & Canada. As of September 6, in this newly created position, Lucien will help to enhance and establish the positioning of Majestic Resorts - in both its destinations of Mexico and the Dominican Republic - through strategic negotiations with key partners, special events and tradeshows, specialized media, and increasing the brand awareness among tour operators, consortia, as well as the luxury, meetings and incentives, and destination weddings segments.
The travel agent community is a top priority for Majestic Resorts. Her focus will be to level up the partnerships the company has and to provide more tools to increase the business.
Lucien brings over 20 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. She has been a crucial part of the evolution of tourism in the Dominican Republic and its positioning as the number one Caribbean destination. As former Executive Director for the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism for more than 16 years, Lucien led the strategic direction for marketing and promotions in both Puerto Rico and the United States northeast region. Since assuming the role in 2004, Lucien has led the positioning within the luxury, meetings and incentives and destination weddings segments.
Prior to representing the Ministry of Tourism, Lucien spent seven years as a Sales Manager promoting some of the most prestigious hotels in the Caribbean. As an expert in the luxury market and destination weddings segments, she has also supervised the execution of cooperation agreements with major tour operators, airlines, managing tourism boards offices, both in Puerto Rico and the United States.
She has been honored with the Woman Leadership Award at the Dominican Women's Development Center's (DWDC) 32nd anniversary Virtual Gala in 2020. As well as 'La Medalla al Merito Ciudadano' by the Dominican General Consulate in New York City, amongst others.
