A new digital resource is now available to people with accessibility issues traveling to New York City.
The new portal on NYCgo.com features engaging content, including inspirational articles and interactive search features that allow travelers to find what they need by providing information on hotels, restaurants, attractions, events and more.
Articles provide in-depth content on the visitor experience for those with disabilities, including detailed information on how to navigate Broadway theaters, visiting the Lincoln Center and a how-to guide for enjoying some of the city's popular outdoor attractions and events.
"Every single person who visits should be able to experience the countless attractions offered throughout New York City," said Mayor Bill de Blasio. "Our goal is to make sure accessibility does not stand in the way of enjoying incredible destinations across all five boroughs. Accessible NYC visitor resources help make that goal a reality."
"Gaining access to everything the city has to offer regardless of your disability is at the core of what our office does, and Accessible NYC achieves that," said Victor Calise, commissioner of the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities.

"With more than 60 million people visiting NYC every year, we estimate that 6 million of them (10 percent) are people with disabilities, and making informed decisions before they leave will ensure that their time spent visiting the Greatest City in the World is spent in the most accessible places," Calise added.
Visitors will now have a much easier time finding the information that they need.
In addition to its new accessibility features, the NYCgo.com website was redesigned in 2016 and features a mobile-friendly, responsive design that means visitors can find what they need when they need it from wherever they are.
