Pinterest has added a new option for users that allows them to tack on photos and information about destinations on a map, per the official Pinterest blog Oh, How Pinteresting!
Now you can share all of the cool places you have traveled in a format that is simple, practical and easy on the eyes.
All users need to do is create a board of destinations (or "Place Pins"), select "Add a Map" and then pin them on the map.
Friends will now be able to look on your map, click a numbered location and then open up a window filled with pictures and information (including address and phone number) of specific restaurants, hotels, monuments, parks and more.
Not only that, you can create group boards that allows everyone to post on the same map. Now you don't have to go through all the details of a place you want to visit over the weekend. Just pin it on the map with all of the information and your friends can take a look at it.
It's part of an effort by Pinterest to make things less complex and more expedient for travelers. The service notes that it is also including Product, Article, Movie and Recipe Pins for users' vast interests.
Technology continues to develop, and new and revised ideas continue to sprout up to help travelers out there. And as more useful traveling tools pop up throughout the world, people's worlds expand, paving the way for more exciting opportunities to grow and learn about other cultures.
Even if you are one of the most journeyed travelers in the world, there is always more for you to explore. As Pinterest and other companies come up with new services for humanity, it brings us closer and closer to one other … which can only be a good thing in the long run.
