Premier custom tour operator Avanti Destinations has exciting news for independent travelers looking to journey to Japan. The company has recently added two captivating Japanese destinations, Shizuoka and Tohoku, to its already impressive portfolio.

The addition of these new regions, new itineraries and new experiences will provide fresh options for travelers seeking unique trips to the archipelagic Asian nation. To help travel advisors promote these new regions and sell customizable journeys in each, Avanti has revamped and expanded its e-brochure, “Japan: A World Apart”, which spans 46 pages and is now available on Avanti’s advisor portal.

Specializing in tailored trips for the independent travel, Avanti sells its vacation products exclusively through travel advisors, instead of directly to consumers. Uniquely dedicated to helping advisors create one-of-a-kind journeys, Avanti has designed its e-brochure to be passed along to clients, and also offers tips on how advisors can successfully custom FIT Japan itineraries.

The new e-brochure equips travel advisors with insights into lesser-visited destinations, highlights the unique allure of each of Japan's four enchanting seasons, and showcases a wide array of experiences for travelers to choose from. Clients might want to savor such culinary delights as local food specialties, beer, sake or try their hand at cooking. Others might seek to explore Japan’s breathtaking natural beauty and carefully curated gardens, or might favor outdoor adventures or wellness experiences. Still others might be most interested in soaking up elements of the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

The enhanced e-brochure is not just packed with information, but also includes engaging videos and valuable resources from the Japan National Tourism Organization. It features extras like a Tokyo city map, an overview of top attractions, and even a guide to Japan’s highly-efficient train system expert and advice on navigating the subway.

“Japan is our number-one selling country in Asia,” said Paul Barry, Avanti’s CEO. “Most of our bookings are focused on Tokyo and Kyoto, so the objective of this e-brochure is to show travel advisors how many other fascinating places and experiences the country offers.

“Even in the high seasons of sakura in the spring when the cherry trees are in full bloom and the fall when trees change to vivid colors, it is possible to find many places with far fewer tourists, where your FIT clients can have a wide choice of authentic encounters with the many facets of Japan’s culture. These bookable experiences include having a private dinner with a geisha, hot spring (onsen)-hopping in Kinosaki, visiting the snow monkeys in Yudanaka, hiking along the shrine-dotted Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, or trying your hand at traditional crafts in Kanazawa. Even in Toyko, we suggest places and experiences that most travelers miss,” added Barry.

With Avanti’s new Japanese travel experiences, which can be added into any custom itinerary, guests can go on a guided snorkeling tour in Okinawa; participate in a traditional tea ceremony; master the art of applying gold leaf to chopsticks or traditional cloth dyeing techniques during a crafts tour in Kanazawa; explore local cuisine on an private guided food safari in Okinawa; uncover Osaka's street food culture on a private tour; and even become sushi-makers in a Tokyo restaurant after touring the world's largest wholesale fish market, Toyosu.
