WHY IT RATES: The family-owned and operated tour company has served the Alaska tourism community for decades, and its new facility will allow the company to extend in-state tour opportunities. -Janeen Christoff, TravelPulse Senior Writer

For 35 years, John Hall's Alaska has been dedicated to providing superior customer service through one-of-a-kind excursions in the Last Frontier and beyond.

In May 2018, the tour company will open its first Anchorage-based bus maintenance facility and bring on a full-time maintenance technician to extend in-state tour opportunities.

As motorcoaches travel across Alaska year-round, the Last Frontier can take a toll on tour buses. Fully stocked with replacement parts, glass and other necessities, the new bus maintenance facility's services, which range from scheduled maintenance to exterior washes to emergency breakdown repairs, will decrease turnaround time between trips. When available, John Hall's Alaska will offer its maintenance services and facility to other tour operators across Alaska.

"Access to a local maintenance garage that can perform upkeep on motor coaches is a challenge many small tour operators face in Alaska," said Joseph Hall, vice president of operations at John Hall's Alaska. "Not only will this new facility provide faster-scheduled maintenance for our fleet, our full-time maintenance technician will be able to perform emergency roadside assistance and travel for fleets. This eliminates potential downtime for our customers on the road, and their safety and satisfaction is our ultimate goal."

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Randy will provide John Hall's Alaska with a wide skillset related to service and repair for most brands of motor coaches, trucks and vans including MCI, Prevost, Temsa, and VanHool.

As John Hall's Alaska expands its fleet, it will now have motor coaches that in extreme situations could be dispatched to rescue stranded tour groups. This added security ensures travelers can continue exploring Alaska without the interruption of roadside issues.

"As a family-owned and operated tour company, our promise is to offer unique, off-the-beaten-path itineraries to even the most remote areas of Alaska," said Hall. "Our family takes pride in exceeding expectations on all our tours. Opening this new bus maintenance facility is just the next step in continuously improving the John Hall's Alaska experience for our customers and our valued partners in the Alaska travel and tourism industry."
